Rough terrain cranes

These are specialized mobile cranes designed to traverse uneven and difficult terrain. They are typically mounted on an all-terrain, four-wheel drive chassis and feature a telescopic boom, allowing for greater reach and lifting capacity than a standard truck crane. Rough terrain cranes are used in a variety of industries, including construction, mining, and oil and gas. They are designed to be able to handle the toughest terrain and are capable of lifting heavy loads in remote locations.

All terrain cranes

These are mobile cranes that are designed to travel on rough terrain. They are typically mounted on a four-wheel drive chassis and feature a telescopic boom that can be extended to reach high places. All terrain cranes are used in a variety of industries, including construction, mining, and oil and gas. They are capable of lifting and moving heavy loads, and can be used in a variety of applications, such as lifting and moving large objects, setting up scaffolding.

Crawler cranes

These are large, heavy-duty machines used for lifting and moving heavy objects. They are typically used in construction, mining, and other industrial applications. Crawler cranes are mounted on a set of tracks, allowing them to move around a worksite with ease. They are equipped with a boom, which is a long arm that can be extended and retracted to lift and move objects. Crawler cranes are powered by either diesel or electric motors, and they can be operated.

Knuckle cranes

These are a type of crane used in construction and industrial applications. They are designed to lift and move heavy loads with precision and accuracy. Knuckle cranes are typically mounted on a truck or trailer and feature a boom arm that can be extended and retracted. The boom arm is connected to a knuckle joint, which allows the crane to move in multiple directions. Knuckle cranes are often used to lift and move large objects such as steel beams, concrete blocks, and other.

Construction Rollers

  • Tractor-mounted and tractor-powered
  • Drawn rollers or towed rollers
  • Impact compactor
  • Drum roller with rubber coated drum for asphalt compaction
  • Log skidder converted to compactor for landfill
  • Wheel loader converted to compactor for landfill

Variations and features

On some machines, the drums may be filled with water on site to achieve the desired weight. When empty, the lighter machine is easier and cheaper to transport between work sites. On pneumatic tyre rollers the body may be ballasted with water or sand, or for extra compaction wet sand is used. Modern tyre rollers may be filled with steel ballast, which gives a more even balance for better compaction.

TIre roller types

TIre rollers are available in widths ranging up to 2.7 metres (8.9 ft),with between 7 and 11 wheels (e.g. 3 wheels at front, 4 at back): 7 and 8 wheel types are normally used in Europe and Africa; 9 and 11 in America; and any type in Asia. Very heavy tire rollers are used to compact soil.
